Whale Watching Samana

The humpback whale is a species of baleen whale. One of the larger rorqual species, adults range in length from 12–16 m (39–52 ft) and weigh about 36,000 kg (79,000 lb). It is known for breaching and other distinctive surface behaviors, making it popular with whale watchers. Humpbacks feed in polar waters, and migrate to tropical or subtropical waters to breed and give birth when they fast and live off their fat reserves.

Every year between January and the end of March hundreds of humpback whales gather in the bay of Samaná and this trip offers you a unique experience to spot the natural ritual of these giant creatures. The boat will carry you within tens of meters from the whales so you see the impressive scale of these mammals. Being able to observe them will leave you with an indescribable feeling. You will continue to the white beach of Cayo Levantado, a little island in the bay where you can swim and enjoy lunch.
